EXERCISE – most people know that we should just do it; however few of us do it regularly. Why is this? What keeps us from doing something that we know will make us look and feel better?

While there are many reasons given, the one most often stated is, “I don’t have time.” Strange, the last time I checked everybody has 24 hours in a day. So how is it that some of us have time to exercise regularly while others do not?

First, I want you to consider what you already know about increasing your activity level through out the day. Things like going for a walk at lunch time or after dinner, climbing the stairs instead of using the elevator or even working in your yard. Now compare what you know you should do to what you actually do each day. What makes it so difficult to just do it? Is it a lack of information? Probably not, in fact information overload is a more likely contributor to your dilemma. Between the internet, newspapers, magazines, the radio and cable television, the sheer volume of information we are inundated with each day boggles the mind.

In our fast paced lives the difficulty lies in the ability to stay focused on the most important task at any given moment, and then to make performing that task as routine as brushing your teeth.
